Possible factors – anxiety and anger

There can be many factors at play with anxiety and/or anger management issues, including hormonal imbalances and neurotransmitter imbalances. Normal serotonergic activity appears to be important for maintaining feelings of well-being. GABA is a naturally occurring valium-like substance and is important for maintaining a sense of calm. Noradrenaline is a close cousin of epinephrine, also known as adrenaline. The “fight or flight” response to stress is associated with elevated levels of adrenaline and cortisol, and the stress-related feeling of being in a state of fear. Inefficiencies in these pathways may contribute to the impulsiveness often noted in managing anxiety and anger.
